The Boat Cafe and Bistro is located on the main road, Petchkasem Road, in Bang Niang. It is right on the corner of the entrance to the Tsunami Boat 813. On the menu you can find Thai dishes as well as pizzas and burgers. Many tourists stop here to enjoy the air-conditioned restaurant for lunch or a coffee, they have excellent coffee too, after visiting the tsunami boat.
As the serving is not one of the fastest in Khao Lak one must have a little patience when ordering food. Of the more popular choices are the full English breakfast and coffee and smoothies.
The Rusty Pelican
The Rusty Pelican is world famous for its Mexican food, burritos, sizzling fajita, nachos, homemade tortillas with salsa, burgers, and the latest addition to the menu some German dishes such as Wiener schnitzel and bratwurst are also becoming more and more popular. Gecko Bar is located on Bang Niang Beach Road, about 100 meters from the light cross on the main road. Gecko Bar is a pool and sports bar. Put your name on the blackboard and play pool against the last winner on the table, there is also a fussball table here. This is also a great place to watch football from the various European leagues here, when they are on you can watch two different games on the two wide screen TV’s.
